Puget Sound Gymnastics

Junior Olympic Levels 1 to 3 are designed to prepare gymnasts for competition by providing a non-competitive, achievement-oriented program of basic skills and progressions. This developmental program includes exercises in the areas of conditioning and flexibility as well. One major difference between Junior Olympic Levels and Recreation Levels is the level of commitment to the sport. Most Recreational gymnasts take breaks throughout the year for many different sports. Our Junior Olympic Level gymnasts are pursuing their goal of joining the Level 4 team and thus take pre-team classes year round. Another major difference is our emphasis on form. It’s not just about performing a cartwheel but learning body awareness. Are my toes pointed? Are my legs straight? Am I arched? A minimum proficiency should be achieved in this area as well as learning the skills to ensure a safe and successful experience in gymnastics. Our goal here at Puget Sound Gymnastics is to help every girl progress through the levels at their own rate while having a whole lot of fun doing it. If your daughter has been asked to join this class, we believe that she has the skills and abilities to at some point join our competitive team. We believe she can succeed through Levels 1, 2 and 3 and try out at some point for the Level 4 competitive team.
